⦁ October 28, 2016 I was a special guest at the launch of FirstGem product in Lagos State, the idea of FirstGem is all about empowering female entrepreneurs andI made a commitment to empower disabled women entrepreneurs. It was initiated byFirst Bank chaired by Ibukun Awosika.Wife of the Vice President Dolapo Osinbajo was the Special Guest of Honour and I met with her and other great women.
November 20, 2016 I was invited by US Embassy for US Presidential Elections Watch from 7pm till 6am of November 21 and it was an awesome night and shocking morning to the world when Donald Trump finally emerged as the winner of 2016 presidential elections
⦁ Cedar Seed Foundation participated in the three days e-Nigeria 2016 International Conferenceat International Conference Center organized by NITDA. It was mind blowing when the Vice President of Nigeria Prof Osinbajo mentioned Cedar Seed Foundation during his speech. We alsoreceived an award asthe Runner up of the Best e-Governance Start-up in the NITDA –Nihilent e-governance Dinner and Awards on November 23, 2016.
⦁ In commemoration of International Day for Persons with Disabilities 2016, Cedar SeedFoundation organized an advocacy walk, press briefing and a twitter chat with MandelaWashington Fellowship Alumni Association, Nigeria in Abuja on December 03, 2016 with media organizations. It was a successful event.
On December 15, YALI Coordinator in USA Macon Phillips visited Nigeria and there was a reception dinner for him at Maitama Abuja. It was at the same venue I met with the new US Ambassador Stuart Symington who expressed his interest and passion for disabled people and their issues, I was very excited when he made a commitment of working with us to achieve our goals.
The founder of Cedar Seed was a panelist at an event themed Hands on training on energy efficiancy and renewable energy technologies entrepreneurship and enterprise development organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs at Centre for Women Development on December 21st, 2016. December 31, 2016 was also a memorable day for Cedar Seed Foundation when Uzoma Ikpecham the executive director of IGPES Group single handedly and proudly sponsored an event that made a lot of us smiled for the new year. He bought 100 items that consists of bags of rice, cartons of power oil and transport fare for every beneficiary. Many thanks to him and we wish him only the best.
January 07, 2017 Lois Auta the founder of Cedar Seed Foundation was listed among the most outstanding 100 people in Northern Nigeria. It was a big honour to be listed with people I admire so much. Thank you Arewa History!
Cedar Seed Foundation in collaboration with Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Association and Channels Television had a documentary on the challenges of living with disability. Channels TV being the best television in Nigeria and the best TV of the year for 11th times shown the documentary on February 04 and 05, 2017 on their news bulletin and millions of Nigerians watched it at 10pm national news on February 04, 2017. We paid a courtesy visit to Her Excellency Barr. Amina Oyiza Bello the first lady of Kogi State Government on February 05, 2017 . It was an exciting moment and a fruitful meeting. Thank you Your Excellency for the gift. It was a great honour!
Cedar Seed Foundation was one of the participants on Community Organizing Training organized by Not Too Young To Run Campaign from 16 – 18 Februaury, 2017 at AES Apartments, Jabi, Abuja. It was an awesome experience. Many takeaways to train youths with disabilities.
